A forward-thinking utility in Florida wants to help more homeowners and businesses save energy. Tampa Electric is setting aside $1.5 million over five years for energy efficiency incentives for customers.

The enlarged program will include up to $1,000 rebates for the installation of a residential solar water heater and rebates for solar photovoltaic systems at homes or businesses.

Florida is one of the best states for solar power for two reasons: It has abundant sunshine and fantastic solar incentives and rebates.

If you’re considering a Tampa solar panel installation for your home or business, fill out our online form to get a free solar evaluation. We’ll have a certified solar installer contact you; our local installers know all the Tampa, Florida and U.S. solar incentives and regulations.

The Tampa Bay Business Journal also reported March 31 that Tampa Electric will also assist nonprofit building organizations in the installation of solar water heating systems.

Generous Florida energy rebates, combined with federal incentives, can help you save 60-70 percent on a solar installation. So if you're a homeowner, business owner or part of a nonprofit building organization, it may be time to investigate solar panels.
