The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center will open block 2 of funding for the Commonwealth Solar Stimulus rebate program and Commonwealth Solar II rebate program today, April 9, 2010.

Commercial projects over 10 kilowatts in peak rated capacity and up to 200 kw can apply for Commonwealth Solar Stimulus rebates. The Commonwealth Solar II rebates apply to residential projects of any size, and commercial projects up to 10 kw.

The program manual lists rebates as $1.50 per watt for solar panel installations of 1 to 25 kw, $1 per watt for greater than 25 and up to 100 kw, and 50 cents per watt for greater than 100 and up to 200 kw.

As with any large property improvement, customers should solicit multiple bids before choosing a solar contractor. Our certified Massachusetts solar installers can give you a free solar evaluation and guide you through the complicated Massachusetts solar rebate process. So, if you’re considering a solar panel installation for your business or home, sign up for a free solar evaluation today.

According to Sunpluggers.com, the programs will resume taking applications at 11:00 a.m.
